NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE
COMMISSIONERS’ COURT OF LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS

Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Lamar County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 14th day of February, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., in the Commissioners’ Courtroom located on the first floor of the Lamar County Courthouse, 119 North Main Street, Paris, Texas, at which time there will be discussion and/or action on the following subjects:

  1. Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. Flag and the Texas Flag. –  Lamar County Judge, M.C. Superville, Jr.  
  2. Approval of minutes. –  Lamar County Judge, M.C. Superville, Jr.
  3. Discussion to remind everyone that Lamar County will hold its’ final “Tire Collection Event” on Saturday, February 17th from 8:00 a.m. thru noon on the parking lot, north of the Lamar County Courthouse.  This is in regards to the “Supplemental Environment Project” (SEP) grant that Lamar County received from Northeast Texas Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D).
    EVERYONE IN LAMAR COUNTY IS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE (except commercial tire dealers).  – Keep Paris Beautiful/Make Lamar County Shine, Edwin Pickle and Robert Talley; County Judge, M.C. Superville, Jr.
  4. Discussion to remind everyone that “Keep Paris Beautiful/Make Lamar County Shine” (KPB/MLCS) will use the parking lot, north of the Lamar County Courthouse (near the red brick road) on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., to distribute small trees to residents of Lamar County.  The trees are free, and are being provided by the “Texas Forestry Service”.  This is the fourth year of this program and everyone is invited to come and get a tree which will be distributed on a first come first served basis until all the trees are distributed. – Keep Paris Beautiful/Make Lamar County Shine, Edwin Pickle and Robert Talley; County Judge, M.C.   5. Discussion and/or action regarding Lamar County Commissioners’ Court regarding plumbing issues at the Lamar County jail.   The item contemplates Lamar County Commissioners’ taking reasonable action as needed to repair and/or maintain County property. –  Archer Construction, Inc., Brad Archer; Lamar County Judge, M.   6. Discussion and/or action regarding Lamar County Commissioners’ Court to rescind an item regarding the LVN nurse position at the Lamar County Sheriff’s office.  Commissioners’ Court voted on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 to allow the Lamar County Sheriff to retain, on a contract labor basis, an LVN nurse at the hourly rate of $18.37 per hour, not to exceed an average of 40 hours per week as per budgeted funds.  – Lamar County Sheriff, Scott Cass; Lamar County Auditor, Kayla Hall; Lamar County Judge, M.C. Superville, Jr.
  7. Discussion and/or action regarding Lamar County Commissioners’ Court allowing the Lamar County Sheriff to hire the LVN nurse as temporary part-time help, at the rate of $18.37 per hour, not to exceed 29 hours per week.  –  Lamar County Sheriff, Scott Cass; Lamar County Auditor, Kayla Hall; Lamar County Judge, M.C. Superville, Jr.
  8. Discussion and/or action by Lamar County Commissioners’ Court regarding line-item transfers for various offices. – Lamar County Auditor, Kayla Hall
  9. Discussion and/or action by Lamar County Commissioners’ Court to approve payment of claims, payroll, and other bills. – Lamar County Auditor, Kayla Hall
